Crucible is a 3-band harmonic saturation plugin from Code Chaos Audio — the plugin arm of Code Chaos, one of Germany's most active Hitech Psytrance, Psycore and Darkpsy producers. It was built to solve a real problem in fast, dense psychedelic music: how do you make a track loud, warm and aggressive without turning the mix to mush?
The answer is multiband saturation. Instead of saturating the whole signal at once, Crucible splits it into low, mid and high bands so you can treat each one with its own character. Drive a Hard Clip into your sub and kick for relentless low-end punch, warm up your leads with a gentle Tube in the mids, and add Tape smear and air to the highs — all in a single instance.
